Lojka spent 29 years at the Midwest City Fire Department and served in several roles, including firefighter, inspector, investigator, public education officer, public information officer and fire marshal.
His favorite job was that of department spokesman as he answered questions from the press, and conveyed important fire prevention tips to the public.

MWC residents receive college degrees from OBU
Four Midwest City residents received their bachelor’s degrees during Oklahoma Baptist University’s spring commencement last Friday.
Luke Fogarty, Jamie L. Lee and Jordon L. Sexton earned bachelor’s degrees in nursing.
Bridget Nyree Reynolds received a bachelor’s degree in exercise physiology and wellness.
Tom Elliff presented the commencement address. Elliff is president of the International Mission Board of the Southern Baptist Convention.
He previously served as the International Mission Board’s senior vice president for spiritual nurture and church relations. In addition to his work with the IMB, Elliff served as a pastor for 42 years, including pastor of First Southern Baptist Church of Del City from 1985 to 2005.
