Del City teams defeated in state quarterfinal round

Del City High School basketball teams made an early exit from the Class 5A state tournament in Tulsa last week.

McAlester defeated the Lady Eagles 49-44 in a quarterfinal matchup, while Guthrie slipped past the Del City boys, 50-47. The Eagles were ranked No. 2 in Class 5A entering the tournament. The Lady Eagles were ranked No. 5 before the loss to McAlester.

Lady Eagle Toni Smith wrapped up her high school career with a 16-point, 12-rebound performance. She will play at Fresno State next season.
