YMCA honors volunteer of the year

Ewing has been a member of the Midwest City YMCA since 2005. He joined the organization’s council in 2008 and currently serves as vice chairman. Ewing also participates in several of the YMCA programs. The Volunteer of the Year award was presented to Ewing in honor of council member Mark Barnett who died earlier this year.

“Y volunteers provide the leadership and talent that is vital to empowering people and communities to learn, grow and thrive,” said Sandy Smith, executive director of the Midwest City YMCA. “We are proud that Bruce is committed to the Y’s cause of strengthening the foundations of the community.”

Ewing is among 4,100 volunteers who serve the YMCA of Greater Oklahoma City.
