| Never too young to live a dream |
On May 22, two local Oklahoma kids won the trip of a lifetime after winning the McDonald’s Player Escort Sweepstakes.
Caleb Phillips, 10, and Asher Westberg, 8, joined 24 other kids from all over the United States who earned the right to escort a Team USA soccer player at Brazil in the World Cup in a few weeks.

The 2012 Western Conference Finals like Serge Ibaka might be walking through that door after all.
For two games in a row, the Spurs haven’t had answer for the return of Ibaka, and for two games in a row, the Spurs have been blown off the floor in Oklahoma City.

Carl Albert baseball won its third straight 5A state title over the weekend. They defeated Deer Creek 9-4 last Saturday to claim their 2014 state title behind a 3-run blast from first baseman Cameron Warren and three innings of great pitching by Justin McGregor.
Cameron Warren promised they’d be louder Saturday than on Friday if they won it all. Carl Albert didn’t disappoint, rushing the mound after their 9-4 win over Deer Creek.

| Game 5: Your guess is as good as mine |
If ever there was a game both teams deserved to lose, it was the Oklahoma City Thunder’s 105-104 potentially series-swinging win over the Los Angles Clippers Tuesday night.
On a night, Thunder forward Kevin Durant shot 6-22 from the field. It looked like a guaranteed Thunder loss with the Clips up 7 and 42 ticks remaining.

The best of the best punched their tickets to the state track meet next weekend, in several regionals across the state. Each of our five teams sent at least one competitor each: together they sent 51 athletes. Each region automatically sends the top three finishers in each event, and the next four athletes in the state, in any region, also qualify.

It was a tense two days that ended in heartbreak for the 6A’s No. 5 Choctaw Lady Yellow Jackets. The Lady Yellow Jackets kept their fans on the edge of their seats in back to back thrillers as they beat No. 13 Sapulpa 55-52 Friday night with a crazy comeback but got a taste of their own medicine by No. 1 Broken Arrow the next night losing 65-63
