Midwest City businessman appointed to national association committee
Washington, D.C., May 26, 2015—The National Association of Enrolled Agents (NAEA), the professional society that represents over 46,000 federally-licensed tax practitioners, has announced that Sean Reed, EA, owner of Reed’s Tax Service in Midwest City, OK, has been appointed to its Government Relations Committee.
Reed’s Tax Service is a family-owned business specializing in individual and small business tax returns as well as representation of tax matters before the IRS. Tax preparers Eddie Reed and Sean Reed, EA, have over 55 years of experience. Sean Reed holds the enrolled agent credential from the IRS, which qualifies him to represent taxpayers who are the target of an IRS audit, collection action or are appealing an IRS decision. Taxpayers who are represented by an EA have a guide through the process with the IRS and someone authorized to speak directly to the IRS on their behalf.
NAEA’s Government Relations Committee (GRC) supports the advocacy goal and objectives of the association by providing technical and practical counsel on legislative, regulatory and/or tax administration issues. GRC input is a critical component of both public and private positions the association takes on matters of tax administration and tax policy, including but not limited to congressional testimony and regulatory comment.
About NAEA
NAEA is the membership society of tax professionals who provide tax preparation, representation, tax planning and other financial services to millions of individual and business taxpayers. Enrolled agents (EAs) are the only federally-licensed tax practitioners who specialize in taxation and also have unlimited rights to represent taxpayers before the IRS – they’re America’s tax experts. Members of NAEA must fulfill continuing professional education requirements that exceed the IRS’ requirements and adhere to a code of ethics and professional conduct.
