In November 2013, my doctors told me two things I did not want to hear. They said I needed surgery and it would be best performed at the Midwest Regional Medical Center (MRMC). The dislike for surgery needs no explanation, but hesitating to have surgery performed on me at MRMC was rooted in all the negative comments I had heard or read about in the news media.
Nevertheless, I trusted my doctors and agreed on admission to MRMC. It was, without a doubt, not only the best decision but also the right decision.
From pre-op to surgery to post-op to discharge, I received the absolute best possible care. Professional, proficient, efficient, courteous and respectful are all proper adjectives to describe the level of this care.
I simply could not have asked for any better. These words apply to everyone involved with my health needs - doctors, nurses, lab technicians, food service personnel, housekeeping, volunteers and administration. I know that I was not the only patient at the time, but all of these people made me feel like I was.
I am thankful that I have fully recovered and also thankful that we have top notch state of the art medical facility here in East Oklahoma County that has gained my trust and confidence if I ever again have to place my life or the life of a loved one in their hands.
