- From Staff Reports

Three Mid-Del schools were locked down for about an hour Wednesday while local law enforcement searched for a wanted man in the nearby area.

Around 12 p.m. Jesse Dean Hisaw, 50, led local law enforcement on a pursuit after an Oklahoma County Sheriff warrant team attempted to serve a warrant for his arrest.

Hisaw originally fled from authorities in his vehicle but then fled on foot after abandoning his car in a field north of Interstate 40, east of Post Road.

While police searched, all connecting roads in the area are blocked off and a helicopter is circling the area.

Mid-Del Schools spokesperson Stacey Boyer told EastWord News that the three school sites in the area were shut down at the advisement of Midwest City Police. They were reopened just before 1 p.m., also at the advisement of MWC Police, she said.

According to online court records, Hisaw has a long history of criminal activities including drug possession convictions and illegal firearms. The arrest warrant deputies tried to serve Wednesday was issued Feb. 4 for a Jan. 20 charge for concealing stolen property.for his arrest related to a Jan. 20 charge for concealing stolen property. for his arrest related to a Jan. 20 charge for concealing stolen property.

Well, golly. It makes total sense to just end the manhunt after just 2 hours and 5 hours of daylight left. Shucks, maybe they left his keys in his truck in case he returns, with a twenty spot on the seat. As a resident of Midwest City, it angers me that the police gave up so soon. Did they have something better to do than catch an armed and dangerous man?
