Eastern Oklahoma County has absolutely no shortage of places to eat or enjoy a sweet dessert when it comes to taking that special someone out for dinner.
For this year’s Valentine’s Day, EastWord News has compiled a list of eateries to consider when making your plans:
Midwest City
In Midwest City, Valentine’s Day diners can take the safe route and go to any of the more mainstream sit down restaurants like Chili’s, Old Chicago, Cheddar’s, Logan’s Steakhouse and Santa Fe Cattle Company on SE 29th Street, but be prepared to fight the crowds. The same hectic atmosphere might also apply to Primo’s Italian located on the Interstate 40 service near hotel lodging row.
Other options on 29th Street include the Golden Phoenix, which is a good go-to if you want to go the Asian route, but don’t forget about Pink Swirl’s, where you can drop in for quick sushi rolls or have a health dessert with their frozen yogurt choices and toppings bar.
Moving away from 29th Street, Midwest City’s Air Depot Blvd. has numerous other standouts to enjoy like Napoli’s Italian, Chequer’s, Dickey’s Barbecue, Billy Sim’s Barbecue and Pho My to name a few. If Mexican food is your craving, Cocina de Mino and Los Vaqueros are good options.
Basil’s Mediterranean sits all alone on Reno Ave. between Air Depot and Sooner Blvds, and diners are sure to find delicious and large portions to enjoy there. Oh and don’t forget about Ron’s Hamburgers and Pelican’s, the last two eatery stops on Air Depot where they really know how to cook a good hamburger and fish.
Then while you’re in the area, stop in at A Slice of Heaven to grab a slice of one of their homemade cheesecakes.
Douglas Blvd. is another mecca of fine eating establishments like Lupe’s Mexican, Poblano Grill and Rib Crib. If you plan on celebrating Valentine’s Day during lunch, then head into Napoleon’s Deli before they close as they are not open for dinner.
The new Creperie restaurant is a one stop shop with its offerings of both savory and sweet options.
Del City
Even more dining choices await in Del City with Sara’s Restaurant, Don’s Alley, Mid-Del Taco, Buffalo Wild Wings, Casa Juanito, Venezia Italian and Chelino’s Restaurant.
Choctaw/Nicoma Park
When most people think of Choctaw, the first restaurant that probably comes to mind is Old Germany. While you can never, ever go wrong with dining at the Turek family establishment, you also might consider other options Choctaw has to offer.
Red Raspberry Tea Room, Queso’s Mexican, Bandana Red’s and The Vine Italian Café all deliver on the food goods. Then there’s Spencer’s Barbecue
Last but not least, if you are up for an extra few minutes of driving from the Mid-Del area, then head out to Harrah where Harrah Steakhouse knows how to cook up a mean steak.
With a wide variety of eating options, Eastern Oklahoma County is the best place to celebrate Valentine’s Day while supporting local businesses and the economy at the same time.
