Celebrating the 20th Annual Holiday Lights Spectacular
Midwest City is proud to celebrate the 20th annual Holiday Lights Spectacular this year! This family tradition began in 1995 with just 44 displays and has grown to be the largest animated lights display in a five state region with more than 100 animated light displays. The 1.5 mile long drive is sprinkled with light displays and over one million lights that will captivate the whole family in the heart of Joe B. Barnes Regional Park. Enjoy the amazing 118 foot Christmas tree illuminated with over 9,000 LED bulbs, the impressive tunnel of lights, Santa fly fishing in a 15 foot waterfall, elves baking in the candy factory and so much more!
Illumination Celebration has been delighting families for the past five years with dancing lights choreographed to all-time favorite classic Christmas tunes. Be sure to see the full show by pulling over and tuning in to the advertised FM station.
Bring the family and enjoy a fantastic evening of entertainment Sunday – Thursday, 6 – 10 p.m. and Friday – Saturday, 6 – 11 p.m. Holiday Lights Spectacular has always been free to enter and donations are graciously accepted to help keep the lights on. The budget for this self-funded event is approximately $55,000 which covers non-labor costs only; therefore donations are crucial to help sustain this time honored tradition.
Holiday Lights Spectacular is open the Friday before Thanksgiving through December 30 every year. The Lights can be accessed from I-40 by exiting Douglas Boulevard North and following the snowflakes heading west on S.E. 15th street to the entrance at Century Boulevard.
The Midwest City Parks and Recreation Department is proud to provide citizens and visitors opportunities to live healthier, happier lives through recreation activities and leisure experiences. For more information, please visit www.midwestcityok.org or contact us at 405.739.1293.
