Oklahoman to Join the Team Carrying the Flame of Hope on the Final Leg to Special Olympics World Games Los Angeles 2015
Brett House, Oklahoma City Police Department was chosen to join the international team to carry the Flame of Hope to Special Olympics World Games in Los Angeles. House is part of Team 10, Route 3 and will run with the Flame throughout California beginning July 13 through July 18, 2015. The World Games begin on July 25 in Los Angeles. All teams will begin from Sacramento, California.

House is an Oklahoma Law Enforcement Torch Run (LETR) Committee member, Team Leader for Motorcycle Ride and Auction and assists with multiple other LETR fundraisers. For many years, House has been involved in organizing new statewide Tip-a-Cops, Polar Plunges and is on the Special Olympics Oklahoma Summer Games Committee.
The Flame of Hope will attend 118 ceremonies, visit 122 cities and towns and travel approximately 4,648 miles before the Flame enters Opening Ceremonies of World Games on July 25 in Los Angeles. There are 124 international LETR team members who will carry the Flame of Hope to World Games. The teams are comprised of 76 law enforcement torch runners, 10 Special Olympics athletes, 10 team leaders, 23 logistics team members, 4 documentation team members and 1 team captain.
