Luther Road to close
for bridge project
Luther Road will be closed July 23 at NE 23 for approximately one month as Oklahoma County crews complete bridge re-decking, County Commissioner Brian Maughan said Wednesday. North and south bound traffic will be detoured east and west to Peebly and Dobbs Roads. The extent of the re-decking project requires that both north and south bound lanes be closed simultaneously, Maughan said. He said the target date for completion is late August.

meets at DC center
The Del City Community Center is now hosting a free parent support group every Monday at 10 a.m. The groups provide opportunities to share parenting tips and advice with other parents. Registration is required. Call Child Guidance at 425-4412 for more info or to register.
Church to host
block party Saturday
Wickline United Methodist Church, at 417 Mid America Boulevard, will host a Community Block Party Saturday from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. It is free to the public and will include games, face painting and bands.
Fall vegetable
workshop July 23
The Oklahoma State University-Oklahoma City Extension Center will offering its “Fall Season Vegetables” workshop 1:30 p.m. Monday, July 23. The program is free to the public. The seminar will focus on helping people choose from a wide selection of vegetables and plants that grow well in the cooler months, as well as tips on soil preparation. Lt. Governor to address
MWC residents Sept. 12
Lt. Governor Todd Lamb will speak at a luncheon 11:30 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 12. The event will be held at Rose State College’s Professional Training and Education Center.

Del City graduates
to hold September reunion
The first five classes to graduate from Del City High School will hold a reunion September 14-15 at the Del City Community Center.
Graduates from the classes of 1955 to 1961 are the "pioneers" of the Mid-Del school system and are the children of parents who moved to Del City and Midwest City shortly after the end of World War II. Many graduates still reside in the area and have lived through the growth of the east side of Oklahoma County.
A reunion planning committee has been meeting for more than a year. Using the theme, “A Gathering of the Eagles,” activities will include an informal meet and greet starting at 6 p.m. on Sept. 14. On Sept. 15, a catered lunch will be served followed by time to visit with classmates and share stories.
