Waylan L. Rogers, 74, of Choctaw, OK, passed away July 13, 2012. He was born Oct. 26, 1937 at Trousdale, OK to Hubert and Lucille Rogers.
Waylan is survived by his wife, Velda, of 57 years. They were high school sweethearts.
Other survivors include his son, Mike and wife Sherri; daughter, Patti and husband Gary; six grandchildren, Courtney and Matt Young, Chad Rogers, Lacy Watson, Amber and Zack Hill, Dusti Baetz and Darcy Baetz; four great grandchildren, Gracie and Max Young, Skyler Kendrick and Laikyn Hill; 1 brother, Cleamon Rogers and wife Dean; and several nieces and nephews.
Waylan was a long-time member of the Choctaw Church of Christ. He retired after 26 years at Wonder Bread.
Waylan enjoyed his grandchildren, cattle and a fine cigar and is known for being the “Candy Man.” Waylan was dearly loved by his family and friends and will be missed by all who had the honor of knowing him.
