The students represent 29 Oklahoma counties and include 36 females and 39 males.
OSSM is Oklahoma’s nationally recognized program for juniors and seniors with exceptional abilities in science and math. More than 200 students applied to OSSM this year. After review of applications, the selection committee, which is made up of faculty, business leaders and community volunteers, invited more than 100 students to be interviewed and 75 were selected.
“We are always impressed with the scholastic and personal accomplishments of students who apply to OSSM,” OSSM President Edna Manning said.
OSSM was created through legislative action in 1983 and is designed as a two-year residential public high school for academically advanced junior and senior students in mathematics and science.
Eastern Oklahoma County students include: Suzi Barboza- Pachero, Midwest City High School; Morgan Jackson, Midwest City High School; Breanna Williams, Carl Albert High School; and Jang Kim, Choctaw High School.
