Carl Albert continues to highlight the Mid-Del swim team’s dominance as they traveled to Oklahoma City Community College last Tuesday.
The Carl Albert boys took first place in the PC Invite while the Carl Albert girls took third. The combined score of both teams led to Carl Albert winning the whole meet.
Meanwhile, the Midwest City and Del City swimmers continue to improve in the pool.
For the Carl Albert boys, they had a strong showing in both the relays and individual events. They took first in both of their relays, the 200-yard medley and 400-yard freestyle. They narrowly edged out Piedmont in the 400 by under .30 of a second setting a new school record of 3:31.02 in the process.
They also showed well individually led by Alex Lawrence and Jaedon Roe. Lawrence set a school record in the 200-yard freestyle with a time of 1:59.02 and taking second in the race while also taking first in the 500-yard freestyle. Roe took first in the 50-yard freestyle and second in the 100-yard freestyle.
Tim Hyland finished first in the 100-yard butterfly with Sydney White placing fifth in the 100-yard backstroke.
It was a down day for the Carl Albert girls by their lofty standards, but nothing to get down about.
The girls still won the 400-yard freestyle and took third in the 200-yard medley.
Individually, Alli Azzano took second in the 200-yard freestyle and third in the 100-yard freestyle. Meanwhile Jennifer Litchfield had a good day taking second in the 50-yard freestyle and third in the 100-yard butterfly.
Rachel Cook rounded out the performance with a fifth place finish in the 100-yard breaststroke.
Other notable finishes include Midwest City’s Sarah Brown, who placed third in both the 200-yard freestyle and 500-yard freestyle. Teammate Justin Dennison finished fifth in the 100-yard breaststroke.
Lone Del City swimmer Greyson Wolfe took fifth in the 50-yard freestyle and 100-yard freestyle.
The swimmers go to Oklahoma City Community College again Saturday, Jan. 18 for the Casady Invite.
