Last Tuesday, Dec. 3, the Midwest City Bombers opened their season at home against the Moore Lions.

The Lady Bombers took the lead early and didn’t let up. They won with a final score of 80-39.

Jasauen Beard led the way for Midwest City making three of four 3-point shots and
helping out with two assists. Tashawnya Edwards tied with Beard for leading scorer, both with 13 points.

However, a score of 80 points doesn’t come from just two players. It was a total team effort as 10 Lady Bombers got in the scoring column on the night.

While offensively Midwest City put on a show, the game was won by their defense.

The Lady Bombers out-played the Lady Lions defensively forcing four tie-ups and a number of turnovers. Kara Partridge, Chinna Fair, and Beard each had a steal leading to points in the game.

The leading scorer for the Lady Lions Amanda Patterson went three-for-three from behind the arc, and with a few free throws, scored 12 points during the game. Allison Rogers and Tamera Shaver weren’t far behind with eight points each.

Just like the women the Midwest City men dominated the game, although Moore’s men did manage to keep the game closer ending with a score of 71-47.

Kesean Brown led the Bombers with 22-points with two 3-pointers mixed in and two assists. The next highest scorer, Torey Noel, scored 16 points, topped off with a steal in the game.

On the Lions side of the court, Donte Butler led with 11 points and a steal.
The Bombers played a great post game, but stayed sharp on the 3-point line hitting 4-7 from distance.

Defensively, the Bombers out-hustled the Lions, and, just like the ladies, this was the reason for such a dominant victory.
