2/6/2014 11:41:00 AM Mid-Del supt. asks for support of school bond
Dear Mid-Del Community,
On Feb. 11, 2014, Mid-Del patrons have an opportunity to keep their kids SAFE, SECURE and SMART!
The Board of Education approved a bond resolution in December based on the facility need assessments for safety and security in all of our buildings, technology needs for our students, weather safety needs with a new safe room at Parkview Elementary, and new buses to replace aging buses.
The bond issue is for $10,405,000, and will have two propositions: one for all safety, security and technology projects and the second for buses.
We need to retire some of our buses that have lots of miles. This bond election will keep our students safe on the roads!
Since we are between the payoff of the $90M bond issue, this bond will have a slight tax increase.
For less than a $1 per week or right at $4 a month ($50 on home value of $100,000 per year), we will have new safety and security features in every building, new buses, as well as new technology for our students!
With the passage of this bond issue, we will have four safe rooms in the district - two on the Midwest City side and two on the Del City side!
We are so proud that we are at the fore-front of weather safety needs as we make progress with safe rooms.
Please VOTE on Feb. 11, to keep our students and staff Safe, Secure and Smart!
