MWC council filing dates set

With four seats up for election, the City of Midwest City announces filing dates have been set for Monday, Dec. 16 through Wednesday, Dec. 18.

Candidates meeting the qualifications and wishing to file for the Ward 1, 3 or 5 council seats or for mayor, may do so at the Oklahoma County Election Board between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. on the dates listed above.

The election board is located at 4201 N. Lincoln Boulevard in Oklahoma City.

The required form, Declaration of Candidacy, is available to print on www.midwestcityok.org.  Go to Departments/City Clerk/Election to locate the form.

On Oct. 22, the city council set the filing dates and designated the primary election, if needed, for Tuesday, March 4, followed by the general election on Tuesday, April 1.




Locals file for school board

Local boards of education held candidate filings Dec. 2 through Dec. 4. The following declarations were made:

Choctaw Nicoma Park: Pamela C. Matherly, 60, filed for the No. 4 seat. This is a 5 year term.

Crutcho: No one filed for the No. 1 seat.

Eastern Oklahoma County Technology Center: Larry P. Stephens, 59, filed for the No. 3 seat, which has a 5 year term.

Harrah: Kevin D. McBrayer, 47, filed for the No. 4 seat. The position has a 5 year term.

Jones: James L. Selders, 75, filed for the No. 4 seat, which has a 5 year term.

Luther: Sherri L. Anderson, 51, and Patrice Christy, 53, filed for the No. 4 seat that has a 5 year term.

Midwest City-Del City: James F. Howell, 79, filed for the No. 4 seat, currently filled by Stan Greil.

All candidates running unopposed will automatically take office.
