The Midwest City Bombers used a strong second quarter to build a 40-14 halftime lead, and then cruised through the final two quarters to earn a 70-36 win over the Moore Lions Feb. 10 in Midwest City.

“I thought we played well, we ran, jumped and flew around and caused a lot of turnovers and was pretty exciting to watch for the fans.” Midwest City coach Dewayne Bradley said. “I thought we played really hard defensively and did a good job of sharing the ball on offense. As a team they all did a good job tonight.”

The Bombers opened the game with seven unanswered points with steals and layups before the Lions could connect on a field goal. The trend continued through the rest of the first quarter with Midwest City on top 15-6 at the end of one period.

In the second quarter the Bombers turned on the afterburners and racked up 25 points to the Lion’s eight to take the commanding 26-point lead at the half. The Bombers were led in the first half by TJ Noel with 10 points while Torey Noel and Cornell Neal added eight each.

In the third quarter, Midwest City’s Neal continued his hot hand scoring six of the Bombers’ 16 points as Midwest City increased its lead at the break, 56-26. In the final stanza Midwest City again won the quarter 14-10 to come away with the comfortable 34-point win.

For the game, TJ Noel and Neal led all scorers with 14 points each followed by Cedric Fair with 11, Kesean Brown and Daryck Jones with nine each, Torey Noel with eight, Kadell Nguyen with three and Marquis Spencer with two.

For the Lions, Devante Hurst and Ryan West each had six points followed by three players with four points each, Jaylen Allen, Justin Beam and Dezmine Neal. Maurice Davenport and Brian Robertson each added three followed by Chris Hopgood and Dorion Gigger with two and KJ Hinds and Jaylon Wilson with one.

Friday’s game was the final regular season home contest for the Bombers. Seniors Spencer, TJ Noel, Chris Shannon and Devin Bockhaus were honored between games as part of the Senior Night celebration.
