Carl Albert’s top-ranked boys basketball team was upset 75-63 Tuesday night by No. 8 Lawton MacArthur.
Lawton Mac led 33-31 at halftime and then used an explosive 24-point fourth quarter to seal the win over the No. 1 Titans.
The loss dropped Carl Albert’s record to 18-4. The Titans will play their regular-season finale Friday at Western Heights.
The Titans open regional tournament play Feb. 24 against Tulsa Hale.
Putnam North 64 Choctaw 52
Putnam North’s Panthers used a 24-point third quarter to pull away from Choctaw Yellowjackets Tuesday night en route to a 64-52 Metro Conference win.
The Panthers led 30-24 at halftime, but Putnam North doubled Choctaw’s third quarter point production to take a 54-36 lead into the final quarter.
Choctaw outscored the Panthers 16-10 in the fourth quarter, but it was too little too late.
Jackets, Lady Titans win
Choctaw’s Lady Yellowjackets and the Carl Albert Lady Titans each notched victories Tuesday night.
Choctaw defeated Putnam North 57-52 while Carl Albert swept past Lawton MacArthur 53-37.
Choctaw was led by senior Layton Hurley with 17 points followed by Sydney Wyatt with 16.
Carl Albert was led in scoring by Toni Cheadle with 16 points.
