Alleged shooter describes how he shot mother as children laid next to her The alleged killer in the death of National Guard reservist Jessica Brown provided Midwest City detectives with “graphic details” of the Jan. 11 shooting, Police Chief Brandon Clabes said.
Brodric Glover, 19, gave detectives Lacky Harkins, Wade Ramsey and Lt. Jerry Kennedy specific information about the crime as the suspect implicated the victim’s estranged husband, Fabion Brown, and his girlfriend Emily Matheson.
One detail centered on the woman’s two children – ages 2 and 4 – who were lying next to their mother when she was shot in the head. Jessica Brown was six months pregnant when she was killed, police said.
According to investigators, Glover confirmed that Fabion Brown approached him with the murder-for-hire plot, described the interior of the house and Jessica Brown’s routine. Glover also told police Fabion Brown rented a car for him and paid him cash for the alleged killing.
Police said Glover collected the last half of the $250 hit in cash at the Belle Isle Walmart parking lot less than an hour after the killing, Matheson told detectives.
“Glover was calloused as he described the night he killed Jessica and calmly talked about shooting her as she laid next to her two small children,” Police Chief Brandon Clabes said. “If there was a true, accurate description of a cold-blooded killer, Brodric Glover is the poster child.”
No formal criminal charges had been filed against Glover, Matheson or Fabion Brown as of Wednesday afternoon.
Arrested
Glover was taken into custody Feb. 8 by members of the Oklahoma County Sheriff’s warrant team with assistance from the U.S. Marshal’s Metro Fugitive Task Force and the Oklahoma City Police Department’s gang unit.
According to police, two teenagers were with Glover when he collected the money from Fabion Brown. Glover and the teens were caught on a security camera at the Walmart store. The juveniles were arrested on unrelated complaints and remain in custody at the Oklahoma County Juvenile Detention Center.
Killing motive
Clabes said Fabion Brown allegedly had his wife killed because she planned to leave Oklahoma with their two children – ages 2 and 4.
Jessica Brown was found dead Jan. 11 after neighbors called 911 about two children playing outside unsupervised and in their pajamas. When officers arrived, they spoke to the 4-year-old boy who said his mother was inside “sleeping.” After the entering the house at 933 Locust Drive, officers discovered the woman had died from a gunshot wound.
