The Del City Chamber of Commerce is planning a one-of-a-kind display across from Tinker Air Force Base that will feature miniature E-3 or AWACS aircraft.
At least four of the aircraft will be on display at SE 29 and Sooner Road, just across from the base. Chamber officials are hoping the display will become a tourist attraction.
Any company, group or organization can sponsor one of the E-3 Sentry aircraft.
Depending on the level of investment made by the company, Project AWACS sponsors will receive numerous benefits.
Signature Host or Wing Commander donors will be assigned a specific jet, with their name prominently displayed on the pedestal of the plane. Wing Commander donors also will receie a commemorative letter.
Key donors, otherwise known as squadron commanders or command pilots, will be listed on the plane’s pedestal and receive a commemorative letter. All sponsors will be acknowledged at the display’s grand opening and ribbon-cutting.
Wing Commander sponsorships are $10,000 while Squadron Commander sponsorships are $5,000. Command Pilot sponsorships are $2,500, Crew Chief level is $1,000 and Team Tinker sponsorships are $500.
