“From a defensive stand point we played really well.” Bomber coach Dewayne Bradley said. “We didn’t allow them to do anything on offense and that created a lot of turnovers. Because of our effort on defense we scored, and then when we scored we got more confidence on offense so everything just kind of snow balled in the first half.”
Midwest City, ranked No. 5 in Class 6A, started the game with an 8-0 run before No. 17 Westmoore got on the board with 5:33 remaining in the first quarter. The Bombers finished off the quarter with a 9-2 run to take a 17-4 lead after one quarter. Torey Noel led Midwest City in the period with 11 points, including two threepointers.
In the second period Daryck Jones scored 10 points and Midwest City rolled to a 29-point halftime lead at 43-14.
When asked if he was expecting a blowout game Bradley said “No, Westmoore is probably the most improved team in our conference. They have been playing extremely well and beating people. I was really shocked at us causing those kinds of mistakes and turnovers because they have been playing very well.”
The Bombers don’t have a lot of size, but utilize quickness in their game.
“We do run well and we play hard so it looks like we are fast.” Bradley said, “We do have some speed and we aren’t real big. I thought Devon Bockhaus played great inside rebounding, blocking shots and scoring inside, and our perimeter guys have been playing well all year long.”
In the third quarter the Jaguars tried to keep pace with the Bombers and did a better job than in the first half. Tripp Fuller was the main scorer for the Jaguars in the period with nine points, but the Bombers still increased their lead, and at the end of the quarter held a 36-point advantage, 69-33.
In the fourth Westmoore was able to whittle the lead down to 29, but that was as close as they could come as the Bombers coasted to their 13th win against four losses.
The Bombers had four players in double figures. Leading the way was Jones with 17.
Others in double figures included Torey Noel with 14 and T.J. Noel and Bockhaus with 10 each. Other scorers for the Bombers included Cornell Neal with seven, Cedric Fair with six, Chris Shannon with four and Demeco Wright, Kesean Brown, Will Sunderland and Louis Parker with two each.
For the Jaguars, Fuller led the way with 16 followed by Beau Palmer with 12, Calvin Johnson with five, Austin Bowling and Zac Vanover with three each and Alonzo Brown, Cortland Butler, Kyle Lakin and Trey Ayala with two each.

Bombers return to the court Friday night when they travel to Southmoore
