Lojka spent 29 years at the Midwest City Fire Department and served in several roles, including firefighter, inspector, investigator, public education officer, public information officer and fire marshal.
His favorite job was that of department spokesman as he answered questions from the press, and conveyed important fire prevention tips to the public.
Midwest City School graduate Lester Claravall will receive the prestigious Lewis Hines Award for Service to Children and Youth during a ceremony in New York City on Monday.

Tapped for the president’s honor roll were Stacie M. Beam of Choctaw and Carrie Marie Boothe and Jeffrey D. Crisp, both of Midwest City.
Choctaw residents named to the dean’s list were Marie Elizabeth Gates, Ryan Wade Brewer, Kaili Naleialoha Givens, Halie Dawn Muckelrath, Caila Rai Parker,
Elizabeth Anne Sandmann, Kayley Rebecca Walker and John Lee Williams.
Del City residents on the dean’s list are Samantha Ann Driskill and Philip I. Ozoani Jr.
Midwest City students who qualified are Jessica Nicole Rodriguez, Scott Anthony Charlton, Melissa Ann McCormick, and Alana Dawn Mesenbrink.
Also named to the list are Dakota Trevor Haines and Chloe Lynae Nowakowski, both of Harrah; Jordan Daniel
Cotter and Rachel Elizabeth Thomas, both of Jones; and Chris David Helmig of Luther.
An undergraduate student earning all A’s in 12 or more hours during a semester qualifies for the president’s honor roll. Students on the dean’s honor roll must have completed 12 semester hours of undergraduate work with a GPA of 3.5 or higher with no grade lower than a C.
